They are called by that name because of the way the information is laid out on the receiver and is a scarce variant. This rifle is one of the 22,000 gap letter rifles built by Harvester. Springfield made the receiver and Harvester marked them and used some Springfield parts in these rifles. This rifle appears correct for the time and variation that it is. The rifle is in excellent condition. It shows no sign of refinish or restoration, with finish better that 95%. The markings are correct, with the trigger housing, hammer, and safety, and the OP rod and bolt are IHC, as is the rear sight, and the front sight protector wings are correct also. The stock is properly marked with the cartouche on the left side and the number O R 2473 in the barrel channel. I purchased it on the internet for $2615. I have seen others in poorer condition sell for more.
