He was the representative of the Reliance Shirt Company at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. It was under these circumstances that he met Lawarence A. Williams who was serving a life sentence for a killing in which he used the Colt listed above. Mr. Williams gave Mr. Truex the gun, gun belt, and spurs sometime between 1920 and 1925.
